TEUTOPOLIS -- Chester Reeder is the new Teutopolis head basketball coach - the school board approved the hire Monday night. Reeder comes to Teutopolis from Sullivan, where he was head coach for five seasons.

FORSYTH -- 54 holes wasn't enough to decide the 34th Forsyth Classic - they needed 58. Isi Gabsa (Munich, Germany) knocked in a birdie on the fourth playoff hole to beat Jillian Hollis (Rocky River, Ohio) and claim the title. SHG's Broeker picks Ole Miss

SPRINGFIELD -- The most heavily recruited football player in the WAND coverage area has made his big decision. SHG offensive lineman Nick Broeker is headed to Ole Miss - the 3-star recruit announced on Twitter Thursday. Broeker is considered one of the top 25 prospects in Illinois for the class of 2019. He had offers from several D-1 programs including Illinois, Michigan State, Kentucky, Missouri, and Minnesota.

EAST PEORIA -- Head coach Greg Blakey and the red-hot Braves seemingly brought half of Mt. Zion with them to the EastSide Centre for the Class 3A semifinals on Friday. The fan support comes on the heels of a historic season, one in which the program is making its first-ever trip to the state tournament.
